Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 225 g self-raising flour
  • 175 g caster sugar
  • 100 g dried fruit
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 150 ml milk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas mark 4. Grease and line a loaf tin.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and dried fruit.
  3. Add the beaten egg and milk, and mix well until combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared loaf tin and smooth the top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
