Main Ingredients
- 2 cups Heavy cream
- 1 cup Whole milk
- ¾ cup Granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons Matcha green tea powder
- 4 large Egg yolks
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick.
In a saucepan, heat the milk until it just begins to simmer. Do not boil.
Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent curdling.
Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
Remove from heat and whisk in the matcha powder until fully incorporated.
Stir in the heavy cream and mix well.
Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until completely cold.
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
